Flying with animals
When you book your flight, please let your travel agent know that you want to take your pet with you. Not all airlines accept animals as "luggage", and many do not allow animals to travel in the cabin with you; restrictions also sometimes apply as to the time of year. Many airlines do not, for example, accept rodents (rabbits, chinchillas etc.); for cabin transport maximum weights and maximum sizes may apply, and in many countries special documents will be needed for the animal. Please ensure that all necessary questions have been answered before you start your journey.
If you have any questions about the documents needed, please contact your local veterinary office. The consulates and embassies of your country of destination will also be happy to provide you with information.
